General Terms
These terms apply to The Tinker Trunk website, Pop-Up Stay & Play sessions, toy rental services, enquiries and bookings.
By using our website, booking a session, submitting an enquiry, hiring equipment, or making payment, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
The Tinker Trunk provides family-focused play sessions and toy hire services across Leicester and Leicestershire. We may update these terms from time to time, and the latest version will be displayed on this page.
Section 2
Stay & Play Terms
Stay & Play sessions are parent-supervised play sessions run by The Tinker Trunk. Tickets must be booked in advance where required, and spaces may be limited.
- Children must be supervised by their parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times.
- The Tinker Trunk does not provide childcare during Stay & Play sessions.
- Parents and guardians remain responsible for their child’s safety, behaviour and wellbeing throughout the session.
- Children should use toys, games and equipment safely and appropriately.
- One adult entry is included with each child ticket unless stated otherwise.
- Additional adult charges may apply where clearly stated.
- Session times, venues, ticket prices and event details will be shown before booking.
- Late arrival does not guarantee extended play time.
- Food and drinks may be available at some sessions, subject to venue rules and availability.
- Customers must follow any venue rules, safety instructions or guidance given by The Tinker Trunk.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask someone to leave if behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or unsuitable for a family setting.
Section 3
Toy Hire Terms
By hiring equipment from The Tinker Trunk, the Hirer agrees to the following Toy Hire Terms.
1. Responsibility for Equipment
The Hirer accepts full responsibility for all hired items from the time of delivery or collection until return to The Tinker Trunk. This includes responsibility for loss, theft, damage, misuse, breakages, missing parts, staining, water damage, smoke damage, pet damage, or excessive dirt.
2. Supervision & Safe Use
All equipment must be used safely and appropriately at all times. Adult supervision is required whenever children are using hired equipment. The Hirer agrees to ensure all items are used only for their intended purpose and by suitable age groups.
3. Assumption of Risk
The Hirer understands that toys, games, inflatables, soft play and party equipment carry inherent risks including, but not limited to, slips, trips, falls, collisions, choking hazards, allergic reactions and misuse. Use of all hired items is at the Hirer’s own risk.
4. Liability Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Tinker Trunk shall not be held liable for injuries, accidents or damages arising from misuse or unsupervised use of equipment, damage to property, loss of enjoyment, indirect or consequential losses, or incidents arising from failure to follow safety guidance.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited under UK law.
5. Equipment Condition
All equipment is checked and cleaned before hire. The Hirer agrees to inspect items upon receipt and notify The Tinker Trunk immediately of any issues. Continued use confirms acceptance that items were received in satisfactory condition.
6. Damage, Cleaning & Late Returns
The Hirer agrees that The Tinker Trunk may charge reasonable costs for damaged or missing items, replacement parts, excessive cleaning, late returns, or non-returned equipment.
7. Outdoor Use & Weather
Outdoor use is entirely at the Hirer’s risk unless otherwise agreed. Equipment must not be used during unsafe weather conditions including heavy rain, strong winds or storms.
8. Cancellations
Deposits and booking fees may be non-refundable. Cancellation terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.
9. Agreement
By confirming a toy hire booking, completing the booking form, ticking the agreement checkbox or making payment, the Hirer confirms they are over 18 years of age, understand and accept these terms, and accept full responsibility for all hired equipment during the hire period.
Section 4
Payments, Deposits & Cancellations
- Stay & Play tickets are usually paid at the time of booking.
- Toy hire bookings may require a deposit, booking fee or full payment to secure the date.
- A booking is not confirmed until payment or deposit has been received where required.
- Deposits and booking fees may be non-refundable depending on the booking type and notice given.
- If The Tinker Trunk needs to cancel or rearrange a booking, we will contact the customer as soon as possible.
- Where possible, we may offer an alternative date, credit or refund depending on the circumstances.
Section 5
Safety & Responsibility
Safety is important to us, but parents, guardians, hirers and event organisers remain responsible for appropriate supervision and safe use of toys, games and equipment.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Customers must follow any safety instructions provided by The Tinker Trunk.
- Customers must not allow unsafe, rough or inappropriate use of toys or equipment.
- Any damage, safety concerns or issues must be reported as soon as possible.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring that the event space is suitable for the toys, games or activities being used.

The information on this website is provided for general information, booking and enquiry purposes. We aim to keep information accurate and up to date, but details such as prices, availability, venues and services may change.
