Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 21 May 2026

Organisation name: The Tinker Trunk

Email: [email protected]

Website: www.thetinkertrunk.co.uk

These Terms & Conditions apply when you book, pay for, attend, or participate in one of our children’s play sessions, family events, private bookings, or community hall events.

By booking a ticket or attending one of our events, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. General Terms

Our events are children’s play sessions held at hired venues, community halls, private halls, or other suitable event spaces.

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Parents, guardians, carers, or accompanying adults remain fully responsible for the supervision, safety, behaviour, and welfare of the children in their care throughout the event.

Our staff may manage the event, set up equipment, give general guidance, and help with the smooth running of the session, but they are not responsible for supervising individual children.

Children of different ages may attend, but some toys, equipment, or activities may be more suitable for younger children. It is the responsibility of the accompanying adult to decide whether an activity is suitable for the child in their care.

2. Bookings & Tickets

Bookings should be made online in advance through our website or booking/payment page.

A ticket only gives entry to the specific event, date, time, and venue shown at the time of booking.

Tickets may not be used for a different session, venue, date, or time unless we have agreed this in writing.

Ticket prices are shown on our website and may change at any time. Price changes do not affect bookings already confirmed.

Where tickets are limited, places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We may not be able to admit visitors who arrive without a booking if the session is full.

3. Entry

Each ticket admits the child or attendee stated on the booking, together with the accompanying adult where this is stated on the event page.

Additional adults, siblings, or children may need their own ticket depending on the event type. Please check the event page before booking.

We reserve the right to refuse entry if:

  • the booking cannot be verified;
  • the attendee arrives for the wrong session;
  • the event has reached capacity;
  • the attendee or accompanying adult does not follow these Terms & Conditions;
  • we believe entry may affect the safety or enjoyment of other guests.
4. Session Times & Late Arrival

Session times are displayed on the event page and/or booking confirmation email.

Please arrive on time. If you arrive late, you may still be admitted, but you must leave at the scheduled end time of the session.

Late arrival does not entitle you to extra time, a refund, partial refund, credit, or transfer.

If you miss your session, no refund will be given.

5. Supervision of Children

Children must be supervised by their parent, guardian, carer, or accompanying adult at all times.

Adults must remain close enough to intervene if needed and must ensure children:

  • use toys and equipment safely;
  • treat other children, adults, staff, and venue property with respect;
  • do not throw, damage, misuse, or remove toys or equipment;
  • do not climb on equipment unless it is clearly intended for climbing;
  • follow any instructions given by staff or venue representatives.

We do not provide childcare, childminding, or one-to-one supervision.

6. Health, Illness & Infection Control

Please do not attend if you, your child, or anyone in your group is unwell, infectious, or showing symptoms of a contagious illness.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • vomiting;
  • diarrhoea;
  • fever;
  • contagious rash;
  • heavy cough/cold symptoms;
  • chickenpox or similar infectious conditions.

If a child or adult becomes unwell during the event, we may ask them to leave for the safety of others.

No refund will be given where someone is refused entry or asked to leave due to illness or infection risk.

7. Safety & Behaviour

We want all visitors to enjoy a safe and respectful environment.

We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a person to leave if they:

  • behave aggressively, abusively, or dangerously;
  • bully, intimidate, or threaten others;
  • use offensive language;
  • misuse or intentionally damage toys, equipment, or venue property;
  • ignore safety instructions;
  • create a risk to themselves or others.

Where someone is asked to leave due to behaviour, no refund will be given.

The person responsible for any wilful or careless damage may be charged for repair or replacement costs.

Smoking, vaping, alcohol, illegal substances, and offensive behaviour are not permitted at our events.

8. Toys, Equipment & Play Areas

Our toys and equipment are provided for play during the session only.

Toys and equipment must not be taken home, removed from the venue, damaged, or used in a way that may cause harm.

Some toys may include small parts or moving parts. Adults are responsible for ensuring children use the toys in a safe and age-appropriate way.

If a toy or piece of equipment appears broken, unsafe, or damaged, please notify a member of staff immediately and stop using it.

9. Long Hair, Loose Clothing & Personal Safety

Where toys include moving wheels, tracks, or mechanical parts, visitors should take sensible precautions.

Long hair should be tied back where there is any risk of it becoming caught in moving parts.

Loose clothing, scarves, straps, or accessories should be kept away from moving toys or equipment.

10. Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers

All bookings are non-refundable unless we cancel the event and cannot offer a suitable replacement.

Event tickets are for a specific date and time. Once booked, you are reserving a limited place that may not be possible for us to resell.

Transfers may be offered at our discretion if you contact us at least 72 hours before the scheduled session start time.

Transfer requests made with less than 72 hours’ notice may be refused.

Transfers are not guaranteed and depend on availability.

No refund or transfer will be given for:

  • late arrival;
  • missed sessions;
  • traffic or parking issues;
  • adverse weather;
  • illness;
  • change of plans;
  • booking the wrong date, time, or venue;
  • failure to read the event information.

We may consider exceptional circumstances at our discretion, but we are not obliged to do so.

11. Event Changes, Venue Changes & Cancellation by Us

We may need to change event details for reasons outside our control, including venue issues, staff illness, safety concerns, low attendance, weather, equipment problems, or circumstances affecting the hired hall.

Where reasonably possible, we will notify customers using the contact details provided at booking.

If we cancel an event, we will usually offer one of the following:

  • transfer to another suitable session;
  • credit for a future event;
  • refund of the ticket price paid.

We are not responsible for additional costs such as travel, parking, accommodation, childcare, or other expenses.

12. Venue Rules

Our events may take place in third-party venues. Visitors must follow any venue rules, safety instructions, parking rules, access arrangements, and staff directions.

We are not responsible for venue facilities outside our control, including parking, toilets, lifts, heating, lighting, access routes, or other users of the venue.

Please check the event page and confirmation email for venue address, access notes, and arrival instructions.

13. Food, Drink & Allergies

Food and drink rules may vary depending on the venue and event.

If food or drink is allowed, please keep it away from toys and equipment.

Please tell us before attending if your child has an allergy, medical condition, disability, or additional need that may affect their visit.

We will try to make reasonable arrangements where possible, but we cannot guarantee that any venue or event will be free from allergens.

14. Additional Needs

We aim to make our events as welcoming and accessible as reasonably possible.

If your child or anyone attending has a disability, medical condition, sensory need, allergy, or other additional requirement, please contact us before booking or before attending.

We will do our best to advise on suitability and make reasonable adjustments where possible.

15. Photography & Video

You may take photos or videos of your own child for personal use.

Please avoid photographing or filming other children or families without their permission.

Photos or videos that include other children should not be posted online, on social media, or shared publicly without permission from their parent or guardian.

We may occasionally take photos or videos for marketing purposes, but we will only use identifiable images of children with appropriate consent.

16. Personal Belongings

Visitors are responsible for their own personal belongings.

Please keep valuables with you at all times.

We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal items, including coats, shoes, bags, pushchairs, toys, phones, or valuables brought into the event.

17. Parking & Travel

Please allow enough time for travel, parking, and finding the venue.

Parking availability may vary by venue and cannot be guaranteed unless clearly stated.

Delays caused by traffic, roadworks, public transport, parking, weather, or difficulty finding the venue do not entitle you to a refund or transfer.

18. Private Bookings & Parties

Private bookings, group bookings, and parties may be subject to separate payment terms, deposits, and cancellation rules.

Any deposit paid for a private booking or party is non-refundable unless stated otherwise in writing.

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring all guests follow these Terms & Conditions.

We reserve the right to end a private booking early if guests behave dangerously, misuse equipment, or cause damage. In this situation, no refund will be given and the booking customer may be charged for damage.

19. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

We are not responsible for loss, injury, damage, or expense caused by:

  • failure to supervise children properly;
  • misuse of toys, equipment, or venue facilities;
  • failure to follow instructions;
  • personal belongings being lost, stolen, or damaged;
  • events outside our reasonable control.

Visitors attend and participate in play activities under the supervision and responsibility of the accompanying adult.
